Terms of Service

Last updated: March 2, 2026

1. Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of For The One, a platform that connects foster care agencies (requesters) with churches and organizations (responders) to meet tangible needs for families and children. The platform is operated for Michigan only. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and have the authority to enter into these Terms on behalf of yourself or your organization. You represent that all information you provide during registration is accurate, complete, and current. New accounts require approval by an administrator before full access is granted.

3. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your password
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access

You may not share your account credentials or allow others to use your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the platform only for lawful purposes and in accordance with its intended purpose: connecting foster care agencies with responding organizations to meet tangible needs. You agree not to:

  • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information
  • Impersonate another person or organization
  • Use the platform for any commercial purpose unrelated to meeting foster care needs
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the platform, other accounts, or our systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the platform's operation

5. Content You Submit

When you post needs, claim needs, or otherwise submit content, you grant For The One a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content as necessary to operate the platform. You represent that you have the right to share such content and that it does not violate any third-party rights or applicable laws.

6. No Guarantee of Fulfillment

For The One facilitates connections between requesters and responders. We do not guarantee that any need will be claimed or fulfilled. The platform is a matching tool; fulfillment depends on the voluntary actions of responders. We are not responsible for the quality, timeliness, or outcome of any connection or transaction between users.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, For The One and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability for any claims related to the platform shall not exceed the amount you paid to use the platform (if any) in the twelve months preceding the claim. The platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason we deem appropriate. You may request account deletion by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately.

9. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will post updated Terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the platform.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Michigan.
